NBC's NIGHT SHIFT Is #1 Most-Watched Scripted Show of the Night


NBC's THE NIGHT SHIFT (0.8/3 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) ranks as the most-watched scripted show on the Big 4 last night and ties for #1 in the two-hour time period among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and is #1 outright among those nets in total viewers. For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., finishes #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adult 25-54 and total viewers. Grows +4% week to week in total viewers (4.457 million vs. 4.297 million). Will increase substantially via time-shifting and VOD: Night Shift" has increased by +43% this summer in 18-49 rating (from a 0.96 to a 1.37) and 1.7 million viewers overall (4.5 million to 6.2 million) going from L+SD to L+7. "U.S. Olympic Trials: Swimming" (1.2/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET): Ranks #2 show in the time period on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. Takes the lead for its second half-hour in total viewers ahead of "Big Brother" (5.613 million vs. 5.592 million). Ranks as the #2 most-watched show of the night on the Big 4, behind only "Big Brother." In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday Night: In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.1/5 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.6/4; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2. From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters. From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore). At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
