Episode 2 - The Thing With Feathers

Part 2 of the season 3 premiere picks up where the first episode left off. To put everyone’s minds at ease, we quickly find out that it was not Drew on the receiving end of the gunshot, but the man he was trying to disarm when the gun went off. Later we see Syd & Drew working to deliver the young woman’s baby after complications arose. Syd & Drew butt heads over Drew’s reluctance to comply to Afghan law when it comes to saving lives. However, Syd decides to help the young woman, her baby and brother flee to safety putting both hers & Drew's deployment time in jeopardy with his being cut short and hers being extended.

In the aftermath of the accident where TC & Topher rescued a woman who had been ejected from her vehicle resulting in the woman being unconscious, badly injured & dangling on a highway sign over a busy freeway, it was revealed that she was not alone when the accident occurred. A little boy had also been ejected from the vehicle during the crash leading to TC & Jordan working together to search the scene for him. Thankfully, the boy was found & alive but also badly injured. Jordan and TC set aside their personal battle to treat the boy in the helicopter on the way to the hospital. After learning that the boy requires a bone marrow transplant, TC talks to the boy’s father and is told that he is not their biological son. Further investigation reveals that there are no adoption papers and the couple in fact took the child from a mall. Finding the boy’s birth parents leads to lifesaving information as well as reuniting the family and the kidnappers being arrested.

Jordan has caught the eye of attractive fireman, Sam, with him asking her out multiple times, and her turning him down on each occasion. Shannon doesn’t understand why Jordan wouldn’t want to give him a chance. Jordan & Shannon meet after their shift  at a café that Sam and fellow fireman Jonah also happen to be at. When Shannon invites the men to join them, it just may be the start of something new for Jordan.

Upon witnessing Topher eat junk food and make poor health decisions, Kenny takes it upon himself to help Topher get his eating habits & fitness routine back on track. Topher agrees and  after a few setbacks, he appears determined to get himself in shape.

Paul desires to be taken seriously as a successful surgeon, but finds that getting the respect of some of his co-workers is more difficult than he expected.

The return of TC’s sister-in-law Annie is met with skepticism on Jordan’s part as she is not entirely convinced that Annie has changed. A conversation between Scott & Annie hints that chemistry could be sparking between the two.

Gwen finds out she has been accepted to law school at Georgetown on the condition that she is able to begin immediately. After talking with Kenny about where their future seems to be heading, each with different commitments, it appears that their relationship has come to an end.

By the looks of the preview for episode 3, TC & Jordan fans should prepare for ALL the feels as the two may be drifting further apart…at least for the time being.
