The Doctors & Nurses of The Night Shift Returned to Our TV Screens For Season 3 on June 1st.
Viewers were left hanging at the end of season 2 as we watched TC propose to Jordan, but the episode closed before we heard her answer. After a very long wait (1 year & 2 weeks, but who's counting?) we find out fairly quickly into the season 3 premiere that Jordan's answer was no. This episode is set 4 months after the events in the season 2 finale took place during which time Jordan went to work on a reservation while TC continued working at the hospital. As a result of this, the two had not spoken in months which makes for awkward encounters between them. With tensions running high, Jordan confronts TC about his trip to Afghanistan with Topher while TC asks why Jordan hadn't transferred to the day shift as they had talked about. Stay tuned to see how their story plays out.

Elsewhere at San Antonio Memorial, the pranks are back as new hire Dr. Shannon Rivera is welcomed into the fold falling victim to the "check-the-corpse-in-the-back-of-the-hearse-to-make-sure-it's-dead" trick that we saw Paul subjected to in season 1. This time Paul was the supposed corpse, only it backfired when he finds Shannon packs a punch as she nearly knocks him out when he pops out of the body bag. This is the start of a rather interesting relationship between them that includes a battle of the brains, wit & pride. Without a doubt, Shannon brings an energetic spunk to the ER that is sure to stir things up!

Meanwhile on the battlefields of Afghanistan, Drew is serving alongside Dr. Syd Jennings on a medical base where they face the very real dangers of a warzone. When a 15 year old, female victim is brought in, it is discovered that she is far along in pregnancy and her husband is a well connected individual who is determined to take her back. Drew is equally determined to see that the girl is properly cared for.

Dr. Jennings is a strong, fiery force to be reckoned with who cares for her patients, but also strives to uphold the laws they’re bound to while serving in the country. The end of this episode brings yet another cliffhanger, this time with Drew taking matters into his own hands after the victim’s husband storms into the ER once more attempting to take his wife.

Topher has grown weary of being tied to the ER of the hospital and joins TC on a rescue which leaves him questioning his physical ability to assist in high risk situations.

Scott has joined the night shift full-time as surgeon and serves as a voice of reason & source of encouragement to the others, especially Paul as we see them team up to help a patient.

TC’s sister-in-law Annie returns in the season premiere as well. She is now working at an addiction recovery center and appears to have a better handle on her life for the time being. Annie & TC have a heart to heart talk about TC’s relationship with Jordan which seems to help TC see things from Jordan’s perspective.

Two characters missing from the series are Michael Ragosa & Krista Bell-Hart. While Ragosa’s absence is explained as he is interning at another hospital, we have yet to hear what Krista is up to and hopefully that is something that will be addressed in upcoming episodes.
